An early project that later inspired Cicada Psychedelia (see Projects), Flower Girl explores life, death, and the fleetingness of beauty. It is in many ways a modern vanitas. Each petal and scarab piece was hand-painted and hand-cut, then glued in place. The piece was destroyed shortly after being photographed.
