A close friend of mine commissioned me for a simple tattoo that symbolizes life, death, and the medical trade. We originally considered the caduceus (two snakes with wings on a staff), until we realized that though the symbol is commonly used for medicine in the US, the Greeks originally used it to represent trade and eloquence. The single snake on a staff, or the rod of Asclepius, is the "true" medical symbol. Here, you can see her getting it inked!

In high school, I designed fliers, tickets, brochures, and sweaters for the school choir. This turned out to be a valuable experience – I rapidly got acquainted with long hours and a collaborative style of back-and-forth working with my client.
The nerdy secret about this jacket design is that on the staff, the two letters "a" in Albany and the "b" are situated on the notes A and B, respectively. And, of course, that's a fortissimo on the back.
